Dystopia / Utopia: Writing for a New World
This is an introductory Potions class for young witches and wizards. Students will have the opportunity to unlock the science behind the magic by mixing everyday items disguised as magical ingredients into potions that bubble, change colour and grow.
This Potions Class will bewitch the minds, ensnare the senses and ignite the imaginations of young students as they stir their cauldrons and test the chemical reactions of their ingredients.
Students will also weave some magic with words to create their own fantastical potions.

A fan of books or movies set in a dystopian future? You'll find a bit of utopia in this creative writing class where real-world cutting-edge science and some philosophical pondering serves as a launch pad for a variety of writing projects. Students will leave with wider horizons and plenty of written pieces that just might be the start of the next hit YA novel!
So buckle up and prepare for lift-off as we hurtle towards our fascinating or frightening futures filled with far more fact in what used to be just science fiction.

Crime & Punishment
In this exciting workshop, students will put on their detective hat to sleuth through a mock crime scene. They will gather evidence and analyse samples to help uncover the culprit! But the detectives’ work doesn’t end there – next they’ll construct a compelling case to help prove the culprit’s guilt to a jury of peers.
This workshop is designed for students who want to try out the investigative skills or to use their dramatic flair to help seek out justice!

The next Richard Branson (Virgin Group), Arianna Huffington (The Huffington Post), or Elon Musk (Tesla, SpaceX) could already be leaving small footprints around your classroom. This fast-paced workshop will provide students with the opportunity to unleash their imaginative powers to design an innovative product that solves a household annoyance or helps to solve one of society's oldest problems.
Working in teams, kidpreneurs will be given the tools to work through the design process and important aspects of the start-up model, before they present their perfect elevator pitch to the teacher sharks (whose teeth have most definitely been filed). Popular choice will determine the most exciting and viable invention!

The Try-Wizard Tournament

In Harry Potter's world, the Triwizard Tournament is a magical contest between the largest wizarding schools, designed to test the magical ability, intelligence, and courage of students. In our Try-Wizard Tournament the focus is on magical cooperation as students work in small teams to complete creative challenges in the disciplines of Potions, Care of Magical Creatures, Defence Against the Dark Arts, Arithmancy, and Divination.
Even students who have not heard of Harry Potter will have fun trying out new topics and working through magical challenges that encourage teamwork and skill-sharing.

Walking with Beasts: A Fantastic Expedition
Following in the footsteps of magizoologist Newt Scamander, participants uncover the extraordinary creatures of the Wizarding World - how to find them and how to care for them.
Working in small teams, participants open the case on four unique and exciting activities: they will unearth fossils as budding palaeontologists, unleash their designer skills to create an exhibit fit for the natural history museum, produce a scintillating segment to rival David Attenborough, and Frankenstein their very own fantastic beast for the new Care of Magical Creatures textbook!
